Straight Flush (Poem)

Straight Flush

A hand unsteady
is a give-away.

And I'd stop insisting
queen before king
is just being polite.

Ace that jack might be
could he get ahead
of the pack

But asking him
to wear the same suit
as the rest of us?

Hands down,
a real bad move.

Deal 'em right
or fold 'em.

Raise the ante
and go one more.

Put up
or shut up.

Bring 'em in
or call 'em.

Makes no difference
how you rank this game.

I'm flush with success
filled with pride
blushing with excitement.

Three of a kind
ain't obvious?

The lowest two pair
still beats one?

Didn't  I tell ya?

I can play hardball too.

Nice.
I haven't played poker in years.
I do play Gin Rummy. I could right poems about Gin or Rum... Wait. Nevermind.
