Wednesday Wonder: Tony Orrico

Former member of Trisha Brown Dance Company and Shen Wei Dance Arts, artist Tony Orrico performed in April of this year the creation of Penwald Drawings, a series of "bilateral" graphite drawings on paper, which required Orrico to use his body "as a tool of measurement to inscribe geometries through movement and course." Here's a brief video recording of what "the human spirograph" produced while at Polyform Siqueiros in Mexico City.

Go here for the Penwald Drawings archive, which includes descriptive information and additional performance videos. (Videos also are available on YouTube.)

Wow -- that is stunning! Don't you just love the incredible creative spirit at work and play? Amazing.

Just amazing! I will share with my industrial designer son, who learned some warm-up exercise for his drawing arm. This will show him some full-body drawing.

Also, if they make a biopic of Tony Orrico's life, I see Ashton Kutcher in the role. Or Tony, himself!
