Working Theory (Poem)

Working Theory

How you lose
the one you love

takes invention.
Consider the way

your screen flickers
before it goes

dark, its blinking
some kind of code

you fail to receive
and system checks

miss too often.

Human intelligence
is no match

for what happens.

Somewhere inside,
deep in the heart

of that computer,
you let go the one

last key stroke
impossible to retract.

Such a powerful story told in so few words.

You are beautiful.

Breathtakingly beautiful, Maureen. And a perfect analogy...

hard to take back those keystrokes as much as the words once they are out there...

Today is my 20th wedding anniversary and these words are sinking deep into my spirit right now.

Hey Maureen, Maybe my forst time here, I think? Beautifully done - artfully knowing, delicate and deep...Especially liked: to... "lose the one you love takes invention..." Classy stuff - I will be back for more! with Best Wishes Scott www.scotthastie.com

I have a few keystrokes I would like to take back. I imagine we all do. I guess we need a little more online compassion and forgiveness. I like the poem and concept. Thanks.
