Pete Seeger Documentary

. . . Pete Seeger. . . got a whole generation interested in playing
guitar and banjo, got them singing together, and helped
introduce America to its own folk heritage,
while using music as an instrument for social change.
~ Jim Brown, Director, Pete Seeger: The Power of Song

Below is the wonderful documentary Pete Seeger: The Power of Song (2007), which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Directed by Jim Brown, the film was shown earlier this year on the PBS American Masters program to honor Seeger, who died on January 27, 2014.

The 2014 Clearwater Festival, scheduled for June 21-22, 2014, will honor Seeger and his late wife Toshi Seeger.

Seeger Fest, a series of free concerts and events celebrating the Seegers, will open on Friday, July 18, at Bardavon 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie, New York, and conclude on Monday, July 21, with a SummerStage concert in Central Park, New York City.
