 Just This . . . 

     for Patrick

The others who attended
you said you'd passed on

but I know death
has nothing to do

with me moving forward
with you slipping by.

    A grief acknowledged in such a meaningful way. The moderation word is "accustomed," but this is something to which we do not grow accustomed.
