A Micropoem

still you question, ask
what comes of sixty-four autumns—
this: this bared branch

I love the way your final image reverberates with meanings. "This bared branch" could be negative: bared as emptiness. But it could also be positive: the stripping away of all that superficially covers the true self. This is the way of the mystics: endeavoring to strip away all that gets in the way of God's life at the core of one's being. To me, your life reflects the mystics' way.
