Today's new edition of Saturday Sharing shows you where to go for digital magnetic poetry, the wonderful new site for The Scar Project by David Jay, and another new site for beautifully produced design books. Don't miss poet John Siddique's marvelous video poem for his "Holly Moon" at the end of the post.
✦ Who doesn't love magnetic poetry? Go ahead and express yourself with iPhrase - Magnetic Poetry, an iPad ap from Rebel Apps. Unlike the more tactile version, iPhrase includes a randomized word engine and let's you shake and spread out your words on screen.
✦ When you've sufficiently taxed your mind and heart with iPhrase, settle back for a bit of listening pleasure from Scarab, an app that will download the literary magazine's "issue", including not just text but also audio recording of writers reading their work. The authors get a cut of issue sales, according to this article.
(My thanks to Harriet: The Blog.)
✦ And if all these apps have got you thinking about clearing the books from your children's shelves, stop by Partners In Print, where you can find out where to donate what your kids have stopped reading. Partners in Print encourages communities to donate books to local facilities for children in foster care. Get involved. The next big book drive is this September, although you may donate throughout the year.
✦ David Jay's marvelous and ground-breaking photographic series of breast cancer survivors, The SCAR Project, now has its own Website.
Trailer for Baring It All Documentary (The film follows Jay and four women, each in a different stage of treatment and recovery, who became subjects in his photographic series. Like Jay's extraordinarily moving images, the documentary not only raises awareness but shows a very human and honest portrayal of the cancer experience.)
The Scar Project Blog
✦ The new online site Beautiful Pages is devoted to the promotion and sale of printed graphic design books and related books and materials, including magazines, posters and prints, and art and design DVDs. The selection is kept limited deliberately to ensure only the most beautifully designed and innovative books are featured. The site also includes a substantial list of hyperlinked design museums, galleries, design studios, and international design organizations.

Wonderfully eclectic and entrancing as always!
The scar project is so powerful! It seems each scar represents a break in the heart.
This was timely! An article in today's Seattle Times tells of a way some women deal with their scars:
