Water Sign
I look for the hidden
river, watch for some sign
it is quickening in the unknown
place, meaning to feed the roots,
soften the ground. Let us dig.

Well, as often, I'm wowed by what your line-breaks achieve. Each of the 1st three lines can stand on its own; in fact, I've let myself pause at the end of each, taking in the line's image.
Then each moves on, "quickening," to feed the poem's roots. "Let us dig," indeed.
I notice too how "hidden…sign…unknown" all point to mystery. I feel that this poem delineates our very life.
