I'm very pleased to feature textile artist Barbara Schneider in my new Artist Watch column at the online arts magazine Escape Into Life.

A Chicago area resident, Barbara began quilting in 1996; she applies her extensive background in surface design to all of her work with cloth, paint, dyes, and thread, citing as a strong influence her interest in the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi.

Today's Artist Watch column features images from two of Barbara's series: Still Lifes in Indigo and Leaves. Also included are Barbara's Artist Statement, a brief biography, and a selection of links.
