Thursday's Three on Art

Today, Thursday's Three presents a trio of videos from the sixth season of "The Artist Project", a wonderful series about what artists see when they look at works in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

✭ Below, sculptor and photographer Petah Coyne shares a narrative stitched on an exquisite bridal kimono:



The Edo-period kimono features Mount Horai. Its silk and metallic threads are embroidered on silk satin damask with stencil-dyed details.

✭ Painter Joan Snyder here speaks about Florine Stettheimer's Cathedrals paintings:



The paintings, oils on canvas, include The Cathedrals of Art (1942), The Cathedrals of Wall Street (1939), The Cathedrals of Broadway (1929), and The Cathedrals of Fifth Avenue (1931).
