. . . sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two breaths,
or the turning inward in prayer for five short minutes.
~ Ettie Hillesum, Jewish thinker, mystic, writer; born 1914, Netherlands; died 1943, Auschwitz
On this second Sunday in Advent, join me in becoming still, in turning inward, as you watch this lovely video, "Contemplating Christmas: Finding Quiet in a Season of Mystery and Hope", created by Jan Richardson, featuring Richardson's artwork as well as music from the album "The Night of Heaven and Earth" by songwriter Garrison Doles.
During this Advent season, you may, like me, want to visit again and again Richardson's The Advent Door to read and contemplate the offerings there.

Thank you.
I started to cry as I listened and watched. I am on my way down to the shelter. TV crew wants to come in and talk about our situation with the weather. About to walk into chaos. 1200 people crowded onto a floor area designed for 600. 1200 people for whom possibility is a far off star.
In the possibility of Advent, there is hope. Thank you for reminding me not to give into despair. Thank you for hope.
this post speaks of hope
