Artists and Poets Respond to the Pandemic (9)

For today's selections from the online exhibition "Artists and Poets Respond to the Pandemic," I have paired the words of poet Christine Valters Paintner with a work by artist Angela White. This pairing is inspired by the word "Solace."

It is always dawn somewhere /
on this forever turning earth /
eyes just now opening. // [. . . ]
~ from "Always"

Christine's poem is included in her forthcoming collection The Wisdom of Wild Grace (Paraclete Press, October 2020). It was published for the first time as part of the exhibition.

St. Michael's Episcopal Church (Arlington, Va.), which supports the arts ministry I lead, is hosting the complete multi-part online exhibition. On the church's new Instagram page, you'll find images of all the artworks, which are augmented daily. Websites and other information about all the participating artists and poets can be found at "Artists' Biographical Information" and "Poets' Biographical Information," respectively. Some artworks, including Angela's, are available to purchase; for information, see "Purchase List of Artworks."
