Once the realization is accepted
that even between the closest human beings
infinite distances continue to exist,
a wonderful living side by side
can grow up, if they succeed in loving
the distance between them which makes it possible
for each to see the other whole against the sky.

Great thought ... reminds me of Kahlil Gibran's:
"But let there be spaces in your togetherness, let the winds of the heavens dance between you."
the distance
between togetherness
that must
be holy ground
Oh, love that Maureen!
And the Gibran quote, too.
I am still pondering the words here - how can we love the distance between each other? - other than allowing us to see the person whole. Okay, now I get it - seeing the person as seperate from ourselves? Maybe that's the idea here. Getting outside of our own biases and views to really SEE the other person. Whole against the sky.
Nice.
Sorry, I'm talking out loud.
I like the idea of having a thought for the day. I generally have about 100 thoughts for the day. :)
Hey, I loved your French poem btw (left at Green Inventions).
Distance among close lovers is a really unique thought. But, it's true. It's kind of like looking at someone too closely -- they have three eyes!
