Below you will find a preview for the documentary Becoming Made: The Artist and a Japanese Woodblock Print (2014), by artist and filmmaker Mary Brodbeck. Brodbeck takes viewers to Kyoto, Japan, where they are introduced to Brodbeck's teacher and other artists; talks about creative work with poet and philosopher Mark Nepo; and shares, via a Toledo Museum of Art curator exquisite examples of Japanese woodblock prints. The documentary offers both insights into the artistic process and inspiration.
The documentary will be screened March 31, 2015, at Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
